CARERS’ WEEK – 18TH – 24TH OCTOBER

The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock acknowledges the important role carers play in our society.

“I fully recognise the support that carers give in my electorate providing unpaid care and support for a family member or friend with a disability, mental illness or disorder, chronic condition, terminal illness or who is frail,” Mr Ruddock said.

Carers Week promotes and raises awareness of the valuable role that carers play in our community and generates discussion about carer issues and provides an opportunity for carers to come together, support one another and share ideas and information.

Anyone, Anytime across Australia has been chosen as the theme of Carers Week 2009 recognising the diversity of local carers.

Through posters, brochures and websites - Carers’ Week - illustrates the diversity of caring and a wide variety of locations to demonstrate that carers come from all areas of the electorate.

“Certainly I will be speaking to constituents about my support for them as carers in the local community and the wonderful work they carry out supporting those in need,” Philip Ruddock said.
