LOCAL FEDERAL MP TO OPEN NEW GLENORIE WOOLWORTHS STORE
The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock MP said today that he is delighted to open Glenorie Woolworths this Thursday by cutting the ribbon to welcome new shoppers.
“I congratulate everyone who has worked hard towards the opening of this new important store: Paul Downie - Regional Manager; Jeremy Keffe - Area Manager; and Casey Schulte – Store Manager and their staff.
“The Glenorie store will employ over 100 staff and it is a great opportunity for locals to be employed by such a significant Australian icon as well as conveniently located for constituents,” Mr Ruddock said.
Woolworths celebrates its 85th birthday this year opening in Sydney’s Imperial Arcade on the 5th December 1924 which is a great mile stone employing now more than 190,000 people Australia-wide and are one of the largest private sector employers in this country.
Woolworth’s support office is at Norwest Business Park, Bella Vista not far from my electorate employing 3,000 support staff.
“More than 95% of the fresh meat, fruit, vegetables and seafood they sell come from Australia again contributing to the nation’s wealth,” Philip Ruddock said today.
