OPERA BY THE LAKE - LIVE OPERA IN FAGAN PARK
Beautiful Fagan Park in Arcadia Road at Galston is to be the scene for the Pacific Opera’s Young Artists 2010 concert on Sunday May 2, from 1.30 pm until 4pm.
Federal Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock MP said he is honoured to have been asked to be an Event Ambassador for the occasion which will be raising funds for the Rotary Club of Galston as well as the ongoing work of Pacific Opera.
‘The setting for this event is spectacular and I know that it will be proceeding rain, hail or shine.’
Local schools including Dural Primary, Hornsby Girls’ High and Northholm Grammar are providing singers for the choir which will accompany the nine Pacific Opera cast members as they perform musical favourites such as the Toreador Song from Carmen, excerpts from Hansel & Gretel and the Sound of Music.
‘What a wonderful family day out this will be!’
Mr Ruddock says he hopes many local families will take the opportunity to perhaps introduce their children to this style of performance event.
‘Pacific Opera nurtures Australia’s emerging opera talent and endeavours to reach new audiences with their work.’
‘I think we are most fortunate to have such an event in our community and I encourage everyone to support it.’
‘No need for elegant dresses and bow ties, just purchase your tickets, pack a picnic basket and enjoy a wonderful performance in a spectacular setting.’
Family entry is $90, adults $40, Concession & Seniors $30, Children 16 and under $10
VIP seating, which includes a complimentary program, drinks and nibbles is $75 per ticket.
