‘SALUTING THEIR SERVICE’ GRANT ANNOUNCED'
Asquith Girls’ High P & C Association is to receive a grant of $4,000 under the
federally-funded ‘Saluting their Service’ grants program.
Federal Member for Berowra Philip Ruddock MP said the money would assist with the installation of an ANZAC Memorial Garden within the school’s grounds.
‘Although disappointed to have lost the school in recent electoral boundary changes, I was pleased to assist when asked to support the grant application.’
‘The full cost of the memorial garden is some $17,000. Through fund raising efforts, parents, students and teachers have raised about $6,000 already and I know this $4,000 grant will be a very welcome boost.’
Mr Ruddock said the Hornsby RSL sub-Branch was also supporting the initiative which, in his view, would prove to be a valuable community asset and venue for many future veteran events..
