Invitation to a Public Forum -Veterans' Affairs
Do you have an interest in veterans’ affairs issues, reforms to military superannuation or perhaps just want to know what sort of commemorative events are being planned for the Centenary of ANZAC? If so, you are invited to attend a Forum on Wednesday June 8 at the Hornsby RSL.
Local MP Philip Ruddock has organised the event at which the Shadow Minister for Veterans’ Affairs Senator the Hon Michael Ronaldson will be special guest.
‘The idea is to provide a forum at which interested locals can put their ideas, concerns or opinions to the Shadow Minister who has the responsibility of formulating and explaining the Coalition’s policy in the important area of veterans’ affairs.’
The Forum will be held from 9.30 til 11.30 on Wednesday 8th June in the Boronia Room of the Hornsby RSL, in High Street Hornsby. There is no charge but if you wish to attend, please call 99801822 to reserve your seat. Tea and coffee will be served.
Mr Ruddock said his colleague, Paul Fletcher Member for Bradfield would also be in attendance.
‘We want to provide our constituents with an opportunity to speak – not just listen. Your opinions are important and your voice is powerful.’
Mr Ruddock pointed out that it was only through the combined efforts of the community and the Coalition that the Gillard Government was forced ‘kicking and screaming into providing additional funding for the Australian War Memorial.
