GREAT CHANCE FOR LOCAL YOUTH TO SHINE
The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock MP today encouraged local young people in the community to promote their creative talents as part of National Youth Week 2007.
Mr Ruddock joined the call for young Australians, aged between 12 and 25, to participate in the fun of the National Talent Competitions and the Win Free Stuff competition.
“National Youth Week is the biggest event on this year’s youth calendar, and these competitions acknowledge the great talents of our young people,” Philip Ruddock said.
“I encourage them to enter these competitions for a chance to be recognised, with the fantastic prizes on offer an added bonus."
The prizes include items such as computer packages and video cameras, giving winners the opportunity to develop their creative talents and reap long term benefits.
“These competitions recognise the hard work of the entrants and the immense talents of our local young people, Philip Ruddock said.”
There are the Industry Awards, chosen by an expert in each creative field, and the People’s Choice Awards, decided through an online voting system, where young people vote for their pick of short listed entries.
Young people aged between 12 and 25 years can also enter the Win Free Stuff competition, simply by answering questions or providing their opinions online.
Entries for both competitions close at 5pm Monday 23 April 2007, with winners announced in June 2007. To enter the competitions, visit www.youthweek.com and follow the links or call
