FEDERAL GOVERNMENT INVESTS $64,000 EACH IN TWO LOCAL INVENTIONS

“Two clever inventions are a step closer to the market place today following the latest round of Australian Government innovation grants,” the Member for Berowra Philip Ruddock said.

Two local companies namely: Crinia Corporation(Cherrybrook); and Lehmann Pacific Solar (Hornsby) received grants to help develop their groundbreaking products.

Crinia Corporation produced a premium teleconferencing communication device which operates using a micro Bluetooth network making it wireless between the base station and the speaker phone on the table; and Lehmann Pacific produced ‘SkyCool’ metal surface roof coating which is highly reflective and has high thermal emittance properties bringing internal temperature to below the outside air temperature.

Mr Ruddock congratulated the company directors on their success, saying the Government was committed to helping businesses such as these innovative companies take the important steps that turn bright ideas into great products.

“These projects are a good example of local ingenuity that just needs a helping hand from the Government to make it through to commercial reality.”

“This support is important to our local economy because such innovative companies hold the key to future job, export and economic growth.”

These grants came under the Howard Government’s Commercialising Emerging Technology (COMET), Commercial Ready or R&D Start> program,” Philip Ruddock said.

The Howard Government offered a full range of innovation support programs and encouraged local companies to apply for funds.
