LOCAL SCHOOLS SUCCESSFUL UNDER ROUND ONE OF THE NATIONAL SECONDARY SCHOOL COMPUTER FUND

The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock said today that five (5) schools in his electorate have been successful under Round One of the National Secondary School Computer Fund which is a key component of the Australian Government’s $1.2 billion Digital Education Revolution initiative. These schools are:

Cherrybrook Technology High School (No of computers 474
Galston High School 186
Pacific Hills Christian School 159
Redfield College 65
Tangara School for Girls 65

“It is pleasing to read that five (5) schools in my electorate have been successful. The provision of equipment through the Fund, together with the broader Digital Education Revolution initiatives will help create a world class education system with schools that are better equipment to face the future,” Philip Ruddock said.

Through Round One of the Fund, the Government is allocating computer funding to secondary schools that were successful in the competitive application process.

These schools were identified as being in most need of information and communication technology (ICT) investment. With a computer to student to student ratio of 1.8 or worse, the funding will enable these schools to achieve a target ratio of 1:2. This is the first instalment of the $1.1 billion National Secondary School Computer Fund Initiative.

“In Round Two in mid-July further schools in the electorate of Berowra may be successful, Mr Ruddock said”
