NATIONAL TREE DAY – CONSTITUENTS AND SCHOOLS URGED TO BE INVOLVED

The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock MP said today that he supports Planet Ark’s National Tree Day to be held on Sunday 27th July 2008 and Schools Tree Day on Friday 25th July.
“National Tree Day is more than just planting trees it is about growing habitat for Australia’s long-term future. It is about communities developing a further respect for our environment and ensuring a better future for our children,” Mr Ruddock said.
“I congratulate Planet Ark, Toyota and the AMP foundation in their endeavours.
“Over the years, National Tree Day has seen enormous community response and I know that locals once again will embrace an appreciation of our environment.
“My electorate particularly in the north along the Hawkesbury region is one of the most beautiful areas in Australia and I feel sure we all take great pride in our trees, flora, fauna, and waterways,” Philip Ruddock said.
