A FURTHER REMINDER - ONLY THREE WEEKS LEFT TO APPLY FOR ENVIRONMENTAL GRANTS

The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock MP has issued a warning to local groups that there are only three weeks left in which to apply for Environmental Grants.

‘With the Rudd Government reducing funding to many Landcare groups, catchment management bodies, Natural resource Management Officers, Coastal Network grants and others, the process will now be much more competitive.’

‘Small Landcare groups will now have to compete against universities, local, state and federal agencies such as the CSIRO to win funding.’

A total of $25 million is available with grants to range from $80,000 to $400,000.

Mr Ruddock said that while the process will be highly competitive, ‘you have to be I n it to win it’.

He urged local applicants to lodge an application.

Applications should be lodged online and must be received by close of business on 1st August 2008.

Further information and online applications are available at www.nrm.gov.au/funding/open.htnl.
