PHILIP RUDDOCK MP - SUPPORTS BAULKHAM HILLS COUNCIL’S SUBMISSION FOR FUNDING

The Member for Berowra Philip Ruddock MP said today that he has no hesitation in supporting Baulkham Hills Councils’ Submission for Funding through the Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program – Strategic Projects.

“Castle Hill Heritage Park is well known to me and a most important local and significant historic area forming part of the convict farm established by Governor King in 1801 with strong historic ties to the local area,” Mr Ruddock said.

“It is important to acknowledge and respect our great history and to commemorate the lives of early convict Australia and the beginning of the Castle Hill District.

“It is vital to adapt this park into an area that local residents, families and tourists may further enjoy due to the presence of the natural beauty of the area with the Blue Gum High Forest and significant cultural plantings that are so important.

“Castle Hill Heritage Park is valuable to our part of Sydney and with an emphasis on developing and encouraging more Australians to ‘know their own country’ I fully support any funding application that Council is applying for and wish you well in your endeavours.

“I have written to Councillor Larry Bolitho supporting their grant submission,” Philip Ruddock said.
