LOCAL MUSICIAN SELECTED TO BE APRT OF THE 2010

 

 
The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock MP said today that he was pleased to learn that a constituent Gemma Laing has been selected to be part of the 2010 Australian Youth Orchestra (AYO).
 
“Ms Laing of West Pennant Hills, who is a violinist, has been admitted to the Australian Youth Orchestra which is a highly prized goal, with over 1,000 applications received for the 300 places in the AYO’s 2010 program,”
 
The Australian Youth Orchestra presents twelve training programs annually, including orchestral fellowships and other the intense learning environments. 
 
In 2010 Gemma Laing and her fellow members of the AYO will embark on the 20th International tour to China and Europe. Ninety young Australian musicians will perform in concerts under renowned British conduct Sir Mark Elder CBE in Sydney. 
 
These young musicians will benefit from an unmatched opportunity in the development of their career and a sharpened competitive edge on their journey to becoming leading musicians.
