UNEMPLOYED ‘MUST NOT BE FORGOTTEN’
The fact that the Berowra electorate has the third lowest level of unemployment in Australia, with a figure of 2.1% ‘does not detract from the concern we feel for those who remain unemployed’.
Federal Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock said the Rudd Budget delivered nothing of hope to those seeking employment.
‘They breathlessly announced that unemployment will fall by 2012 to so -called full employment of 4.75% - despite having averaged 6.3% unemployment since they came to office.’
‘ I would offer the reminder that the Howard Government had unemployment down below 4%’.
‘The Coalition knows that the best thing we can deliver for all Australians is jobs.’
