HORNSBY COUNCIL’ S $3,000 GRANT FOR FISH CLEANING TABLE PARSLEY BAY, BROOKLYN
The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock MP, said today that he is pleased that Hornsby Shire Council has been successful under Round 4 of the Recreation Fishing Community Grants Program.
“This submission for a replacement fish cleaning table at Parsley Bay Brooklyn has been granted to Hornsby Shire Council for $3,000 to reduce pubic health risks and improve the visual amenity of fish cleaning facilities at Parsley Bay Brooklyn,” Mr Ruddock said.
“The description I have been given for this grant is that the current fish cleaning table is constructed from porous concrete which provides a surface for seafood preparation that is unhygienic and difficult to sanitise.
“Further, as discarded fish waste is difficult to remove - birds, such as pelicans have congregated and associated excrement has accumulated near the facilities which are difficult and costly to clean.
‘I hope that this grant will play an important role to improving the local area in Parsley Bay and I congratulate Mr Peter Coad, Estuary Manager on his application ,” Philip Ruddock said.
