SUPPORTING - MUSIC. COUNT US IN - GOOD FOR LOCAL SCHOOLS AND THE COMMUNITY
The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock MP encourages local schools and the community to get involved in Music. Count Us In.
“Music. Count Us In is a unique initiative that will culminate in the performance of Life is a Song on Thursday 30 August at 11a.m. AEST. At this time, across Australia, you will hear young people performing the song in schools, and out in the community celebrating music across Australia,” Mr Ruddock said.
“The Australian Government is committed to enhancing the status and quality of music education in our schools and I am delighted to support this innovative national school music event.”
Music. Count Us In is a demonstration of how music programmes can shape young lives, and the fun young people can have making music.
Between now and 30 August schools will be able to access the song and arrangements for the day on the website and will be sent materials to help them get involved.
John Foreman, a well respected songwriter and musical director wrote Life is a Song for Music. Count Us In.
This exciting event has been organised by ‘Music. Play for Life’ an initiative of the Music Council of Australia, on behalf of the Australian Government.
“We all need to help make quality music education a part of the lives of young people, and I encourage everyone to get involved in Music. Count Us In,” Philip Ruddock said.
