LOCAL SCHOOLS SUCCESSFUL UNDER SCHOOL CHAPLAINCY PROGRAMME ONE

Federal Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock today announced that four local schools will each receive an Australian Government grant of up to $20,000 per year to provide pastoral care, and support student wellbeing and spiritual development.

“The National School Chaplaincy Programme, announced by the Prime Minister last October, will help many of our schools access these important services for the first time, as well as expand existing chaplaincy services,” Mr Ruddock said.

The Australian Government has invested $115 million over three years to make vital chaplaincy services available to schools across the country, and nationally 1,392 schools will receive grants totalling $76.8 million.

“I congratulate all our local schools successful under round one of the programme. Round two will commence in early July, and I encourage our schools who have not yet applied to seek funding, including those whose applications were unsuccessful previously,” Philip Ruddock said.
