REDFIELD COLLEGE DURAL RECEIVES GRANT FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT INVESTING IN OUR SCHOOLS
The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock MP announced today that Redfield College Dural will benefit from a Commonwealth Government grant of $70,000 under the Investing in Our Schools Programme.
“This grant is for the refurbishment and replacement of playground seating, car park lighting and purchase of library and other education resources. There is no doubt that students and staff of Redfield College will benefit from this Commonwealth grant,” Mr Ruddock said.
“The Investing in Our Schools programme is a valuable initiative which will deliver much needed funds to less well-off Catholic/Independent schools in electorate of Berowra.
The Australian Government recognises the importance of providing schools with facilities that will enhance the education and wellbeing of students. The investing in Our Schools programme builds on the $1.7 billion already allocated by the Australian Government for school capital works over the four years 2005-2008.
During 2005-2008, the Programme will provide an additional $300 million in capital funding to Catholic/Independent schools, as promised during the 2004 Federal election campaign, as well as $54 million of additional funding over 2007-2008 announced in February 2007”, Philip Ruddock said.
“This project involves a significant amount of funding which demonstrates the Government’s continued commitment to a strong and effective school system, maximising the opportunities for young Australians”. Mr Ruddock said.
