$112,500 FOR ADDITIONAL HOME AND COMMUNITY SERVICES FUNDING IN THE ELECTORATE OF BEROWRA
The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock MP today welcomed the announcement of a funding boost for the Home and Community Care (HACC) Program in his electorate of Berowra.
“HACC services allow frail aged people and young people with disabilities to remain in their own homes with the support of their family and this $112,500 will be most useful,” Mr Ruddock said.
“We know the majority of people prefer to continue living in their own homes, and HACC services can provide them with that option as well as a higher level of independence.
This funding is for Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Home Modification & Maintenance Service to assist with modifications and renovations to the homes, gardens and yards of frail older people, young people with a disability or their carers to help them to cope with a disabling condition and to keep the home in a safe and habitable condition.
“HACC is a joint Australian government and state and territory government program with the Australian Government contributing 60 percent of the funding across Australia,” Mr Ruddock said.
“This financial year, the Australian Government’s national allocation for HACC is more than $1.06 billion, an increase of 8.44 percent over the Australian Government’s funding in 2006-07.
