AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL 150 YEARS CELEBRATIONS
The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock MP said today that on Thursday 7th August 2008 festivities will be held to celebrate 150 years of Australian Football.
“As part of Kick Around Australia Day, primary and secondary schools are encouraged to support students in wearing their footy Guernsey or colours to school, organise kicking and handballing competitions or complete football themed programs that have been developed in line with the AFL Schools Curriculum,” Mr Ruddock said.
Business and community organisations will also be able to pariticpate in the celebrations by encouraging employees to wear their footy scarves and bring footballs to work.
“This day is an ideal opportunity for communities to come together and celebrate the game of Australian Football and I urge locals to become involved,” Philip Ruddock said.
