FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS NO PLAN FOR JOB CREATION
The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock said the announcement today that Telstra will shed 800 staff makes it even more important for the Rudd Government to focus on job creation.
“With the Budget forecasting 134,000 job losses of over the next year and the Reserve Bank forecasting an additional 100,000 job losses, it is concerning that the Minister for Employment appears to have no strategy to create additional job and this will affect my constituents,” Mr Ruddock said.
Business confidence in the Federal Government has collapsed to record lows since the election of the Rudd Government, and I urge the Federal Government to focus on ensuring Australian business has the confidence and ability to keep unemployment at the record lows inherited from the Howard Government.
