INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY 2008
The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock MP said today that the International Day of People With Disability occurs annually on 3rd December each year.
“I encourage constituents to join me in celebrating the unique skills of people with disability by promoting this day and encouraging participation by individuals, organisations, schools and community group to hot or attend an event in their local area, Mr Ruddock said.
On the 3rd December from 11 – 3.00 p.m. at Hornsby Mall there will be a showcase for organisations to display their services and activities and special performances by school choirs and street theatre groups and more. The Hornsby Access Awards will also be presented at the event.
Showing support to those people with disabilities is important and certainly a community event such as this displays support to not only those with disabilities but also their carers and families.
