FEDERAL MP CONGRATULTES LOCAL WINNER – ONLY ONE OF SIX NATIONALLY FOR THE 2008 MBF FOUNDATION NURSING SCHOLARSHIP
The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock MP today congratulated Ms Brigitte Karle of Cherrybrook on the recently announced scholarship through the MBF Foundation.
“Ms Karle is a Nurse Unit Manager at The Sydney Adventist Hospital at Wahroonga and as a constituent in my electorate it is pleasing to note that she is only one of six nurses in total from Queensland, New South Wales and the ACT that have been awarded a 2008 MBF Foundation Nursing Scholarship,” Mr Ruddock said.
The scholarships are part of a three-year $171,000 MBF Foundation initiative to give top quality private hospital nurses career-building education opportunities to further enhance your knowledge, skills and standards of care.
The MBF will pay up to $10,000 in enrolment fees, and travel and accommodation as needed for each scholarship recipient to undertake a specialist graduate certificate with the College of Nursing. This will assist with the costs associated with undertaking post-graduate studies that is often prohibitive for many applicants.
“It is well acknowledged that nurses are the lifeline of the hospital system and your outstanding work has been recognised in this important way.
