LOCAL CHARITY GROUPS MAY APPLY FOR SBS FOUNDATION GRANT
The Member for Berowra, Philip Ruddock MP said that for 30 years SBS Television has been serving the Australian community and helping create a more all-embracing and tolerant society.
“SBS works with many other organisations in the community alongside thousands of charities doing invaluable work in the community and I applaud SBS and these organisations,” Mr Ruddock said.
“SBS has formalised this with the not-for-profit sector by creating the SBS Foundation to be the custodian of $2 million of television air-time to be donated to support charities and charitable causes.”
This week SBS is calling for applications from charities and not-for-profits interested in obtaining support form the SBS Foundation. Potential partners may include arts, sports, Indigenous, environmental, health, regional or multicultural groups.
“Local organisations may apply for this by accessing www.sbs.com.au/future and applications close at 5.00 p.m. on Friday 27th February and I encourage them to apply,” Philip Ruddock said.
